Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT), established on September 26, 2018, through the Delhi Gazette (vide No. F. 14(7)/LA-2015/PF-III/SB(2018)/2017), is a premier institution for higher technical education in India. Prof. Jai Prakash Saini serves as the Founder Vice-Chancellor.
Originally known as the Delhi Institute of Technology, NSUT was founded in 1983 to address the rising demand for skilled manpower in engineering and technology, promoting a close social and industrial interface. Over the years, it has evolved from an autonomous institution under the Government of the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi and affiliated with the University of Delhi into a non-affiliating university, as stipulated in the Delhi Netaji Subhas University of Technology Act, 2017.
History
- Establishment: The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) established the Delhi Institute of Technology (DIT) in 1983, affiliated with the Faculty of Technology at the University of Delhi.
- PhD Programs: The institute initiated PhD programs in 1989 and developed several postgraduate (PG) programs, with four of them being approved by the AICTE in 1994.
- Renaming: In 1997, the institute was renamed Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT) to honor the Indian freedom fighter Subhas Chandra Bose.
- University Status: The Delhi Netaji Subhas University of Technology Act, 2017 (Delhi Act 06 of 2018) upgraded NSIT to a non-affiliating state university, officially changing its name to Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT). Jai Prakash Saini was appointed as the founder vice-chancellor.

Admission Process

Step 2: Selection Criteria
- Admissions at NSUT are based on entrance exams. Candidates can qualify through various national-level and university-level examinations, including:
- CUET-UG: Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduate courses
- JEE-Main: Joint Entrance Examination for B.Tech courses
- CAT: Common Admission Test for MBA programs
- GATE: Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering for M.Tech programs
- Candidates with valid scores in these examinations will be shortlisted for the counseling process.
